WordPress is awesome. I say this unapologetically. My favorite part about WordPress is definitely the plugins, there are so many to choose from and most of them are such timesavers from doing otherwise ridiculous amounts of work. In this post I will share with you the plugins I use for my site and why I like them, I will also share ones that I find really interesting but haven’t found a use for yet. What are they? Find out after the break!

What I Use

Comes with every WordPress install and it is amazing. It has caught thousands of SPAM comments and kept my blog clean of SPAMMERS. I have to admit though that it is fun to go through these SPAM comments just to see what they are posting and advertising. HILARIOUS! I have to admit they are clever with their comments though, I was almost fooled a couple of times.

All in One SEO Pack

This is another amazing plugin. It makes SEO SO EASY. I used to work for an Internet Marketing firm, Pepperjam, and I have a pretty good grasp on SEO. All In One SEO Pack makes it so easy and saves so much time, plus it really works!

Comment Redirect

This is just a great tool, it thanks your visitors when they leave a comment. The best part is that you can customize this page so your first time commentors get a nice special note from you.

Contact Form 7

This makes adding a contact form to your site SO easy. It literally is just a few clicks and a few drags, if you want to dig a little deeper you can go into the CSS sheet and customize the fields and buttons, I teach you how to change the button in the article Custom Button For Contact Form 7

FancyBox For WordPress

It is no secret that I love me some Lyteboxes. That is exactly why I am so crazy about this plugin! I love Fancybox and I love the WordPress iteration of it! In my opinion it is one of the easiest things you can due to spruce up any website

FeedBurner FeedSmith

This is a must, this plugin detects all ways to access your original WordPress feeds and redirects them to your FeedBurner feed so you can track every possible subscriber.

Google Analytics For WordPress

What’s more to say? Google Analytics for WordPress Plugin, it’s awesome!

ShareThis! For WordPress

As I stated last week, I love ShareThis in the article Share This with ShareThis!. It is an amazing program, it does what I need it to and it looks good.

Simple Google Sitemap XML

Not much to say here except that it works well, it is an easy way of creating a sitemap and getting your SEO score up.

W3 Total Cache

The fastest and most complete WordPress performance plugin. Dramatically improve the speed and user experience of your site. Add browser, page, object and database caching as well as minify and content delivery network (CDN) to WordPress. BOOM!

WordPress Database Backup

I can’t tell you how many times I have seen someone get their site hacked and they lose everything. Having a database backup is the least you can do, to at least keep all of your content if anything happens. A great little tool.

WordPress Thread Comment

I love this plugin, I realize there is a way to thread comments with WordPress in one of the newer version but this works just as well and honestly it is faster, I love it.

WP Maintenance Mode

Imagine your users are on your site and they are trying to read a post or look at something that you happen to be working on, it will ruin their experience. Not with this plugin, using WP Maintenance Mode you can set up a new front page that lets your users know that you are fixing / repairing / upgrading your site to improve their experience. It has many options including a countdown timer so they know when you will be done.

Yet Another Related Posts Plugin

I love this one, it searches out keywords in your current post and then finds similar keywords in other posts and puts them in a little related box at the bottom of your posts. It is a really easy way to engage and keep readers using your site!
